Donald Trump Pushing For Higher Stimulus Checks Than Current $600 Offer

Donald Trump is apparently pushing to get higher stimulus checks out to the public than the current measly $600 offer that was put on the table last week.

While speaking to Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade, Trump revealed that he wanted the next set of stimulus checks to be approved for “more money” than what is currently being offered. As we reported, $600 was the proposed amount, however, that is nowhere near enough as people already struggled with the previous $1200 checks.

“I’m pushing it very hard, and to be honest with you, if the Democrats really wanted to do the deal, they’d do the deal,” Trump said. “Right now, I want to see checks — for more money than they’re talking about — going to people.”

Trump has reportedly said in private that he would be in favor of sending a direct deposit of up to $2,000 to Americans. Earlier this year, the federal government sent out $1,200 stimulus checks as part of the $2.2 trillion CARES Act, which was passed back in March.
