Former President Donald Trump shared a fake AI image of Taylor Swift on social media, encouraging people to support him in the upcoming November election.

In a post made on Sunday on Truth Social, the Republican candidate posted an image of Swift wearing red, white, and blue, with her fake caption reading, “Taylor Swift Wants You To Vote For Donald Trump.” In response Trump wrote “I accept.”

Taylor Swift has not made any public endorsements for candidates in the 2024 election, although she has previously expressed support for Democratic candidates in the past. If you remember, the singer endorsed President Joe Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris during the 2020 election.

Harris is expected to be officially nominated as the 2024 Democratic candidate at the party’s national convention in Chicago this week. Additionally, Swift expressed criticism of Trump in a documentary released in 2020.

Representatives for both Swift and Trump did not respond right away to requests for comments. Trump also shared images of young women donning “Swifties for Trump” shirts, as well as a satirical article titled “Swifties Turning to Trump After ISIS Foiled Taylor Swift Concert,” which was labeled “SATIRE” above the headline.

As we previously shared, Swift canceled three concerts in Vienna this month after authorities announced they had thwarted a planned attack. Local officials arrested a 19-year-old man who was reportedly inspired by the Islamic State.

Many fans of Swift and various watchdog organizations have claimed that several of the images shared by Trump seemed to be deepfakes created using artificial intelligence. Advocates in the music industry, Hollywood, and Washington are calling for federal legislation and other initiatives to address the growing prevalence of fake AI-generated images online.
