Following Donald Trump’s announcement that he’s set to run for President of the United States once more, his daughter Ivanka has released a statement, saying she will have no part in the bid to get her dad back into office. The 41-year-old, who is said to have played a key role in her father’s past campaigns, revealed that she no longer desires to be involved in politics altogether.

Instead, Ivanka wants to focus her attention on her family, though she’ll continue to support her father from a distance. “I love my father very much. This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics,” she said in a statement.

“While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena. I am grateful to have had the honor of serving the American people and I will always be proud of many of our administration’s accomplishments.” According to the New York Post, Ivanka had allegedly refused to be on stage with her dad at his Mar-a-Lago Palm Beach resort on Tuesday despite her father’s request.

Sources tell the news outlet that while Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner were said to have both been approached to grace the stage — considering Ivanka was the most requested speaker aside from Trump himself during previous campaigns — they reportedly declined the offer.

“So far she’s resisting his entreaties and holding firm, as is Jared. They both feel they got burned in Washington and don’t want to go back and expose themselves and their children to another bitter campaign,” the insider said.

During his announcement speech on Tuesday evening, Trump said he was determined to “make America great and glorious again.” He name-dropped President Joe Biden on several occasions, convinced that his successor has caused nothing but hardship, pain, despair, and anxiety to the people of the United States, who’ve been failed by his leadership.

“Two years ago we were a great nation and soon we will be a great nation again,” Trump expressed to the crowd. “I will fight like no one has ever fought before.” He stressed that he will make sure Biden does not end up receiving another four years which could set the country into an even bigger drawback than it already has.
With his daughter turning her back on politics, it’ll be interesting to see how Trump’s presidential campaign fares in the long run.
