Former President Donald Trump has ramped up his personal attacks against Vice President Kamala Harris despite increasing pleas from the Republican Party to focus on policy as the November election approaches.

On Thursday, during a press conference in Bedminster, New Jersey, Trump stated that he feels “entitled to personal attacks” after reporters asked if he agreed with Republican allies to shift his focus to his opponent’s policies. He said his harsh criticisms stemmed from anger concerning what Harris had done to the United States. “I don’t have a lot of respect for her,” he said, referencing her recent comments describing Trump and his running mate JD Vance as “weird.” The former president retaliated by labeling her policies as “weird” while praising his stances on border security and tax reform, as reported by Forbes.
I will remember the text. Trump’s remarks come after public statements from individuals such as former Trump White House aide Peter Navarro and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. Ramaswamy expressed his thoughts in an interview with Politico, saying, “I see a missed opportunity. But I’m keen to make sure we get on the right course, which is to go after her policy record.”

“She’s been a U.S. senator, she’s been a vice president, and she’s been a 2020 presidential candidate, as well.”
Earlier this month, Trump went on Truth Social, claiming that Harris could not be Black because she acknowledges her Indian heritage. Referring to a video with actress Mindy Kaling and Harris, Trump wrote on Truth Social that “Crazy Kamala is saying she’s Indian, not Black. This is a big deal. Stone cold phony. She uses everybody, including her racial identity!”
He seemed to reaffirm the claims while speaking to ABC reporter Rachel Scott after she asked about other comments regarding Republicans calling Harris a “DEI hire” at the Chicago NABJ (National Association of Black Journalists) conference.
“I’ve known her a long time indirectly. Not directly very much. She was always of Indian heritage. And she was only promoting Indian heritage. I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black. And now she wants to be known as Black. So I don’t know, is she Indian, or is she Black?”
