Donald Trump Has Another Honorary Degree Yanked After Capitol Insurrection

In addition to the big ‘ole boot coming in less than two weeks, Donald Trump is now having another honorary degree yanked from his possession after the treasonous Capitol insurrection this past week.

While following a decision made earlier on Friday (Jan. 8) by officials at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania, which awarded a degree to Trump in 1988, the Board of Trustees at Wagner College, in Staten Island, New York, uploaded a message on their site also announcing their revoking of Trump’s honorary degree. They wrote, “[We] met in a special session to review the honorary degree granted to Donald J. Trump in 2004 and have voted to rescind that degree.”

While each of the schools’ officials neglected to offer any insight on the change of heart, readers everywhere have put two and two together and quickly got four. At Lehigh, the student newspaper reveals there have been several recent petitions to rescind Trump’s degree, coupled with at least 5 years worth of mounting pressure from faculty, staff and alumni to revoke the degree. Meanwhile, Trump still has an honorary degree from Liberty University from 2017. He was also awarded one that same year at the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland, which was rescinded in 2015 amid uproar of his comments about banning Muslims from entering the U.S.
