Former President Donald Trump has confirmed that his wife Melania’s mother, Amalija Knav, is currently battling a serious illness. This revelation explains Melania’s absence from the Trump family’s recent Christmas and New Year’s celebrations at Mar-a-Lago.
Trump expressed his hope for Amalija’s recovery, acknowledging the challenging situation they are facing. While the specific details of her illness were not disclosed, Trump assured the crowd that Melania sends her love and wishes for her mother’s speedy recovery.
Melania’s absence from the Trump family photo taken on Christmas raised eyebrows, prompting speculation about her whereabouts. However, a source quickly clarified that she was caring for her ailing mother, emphasizing Melania’s unwavering devotion to her family. This dedication is not surprising, as Melania has always prioritized her loved ones and their well-being even when they’re under scrutiny. “We just want to wish Amalija that she gets better as quickly as possible. Hopefully she’ll be recovering. But it’s a tough one, a very tough one,” Trump said at the event. The 77-year-old went on to say that Melania “sends her love” to the crowd who gathered at his Palm Beach, Fla., estate to ring in 2024.
Melania’s recent absences from high-profile events coincide with reports that she plans to increase her public appearances to support her husband’s bid for re-election. Despite the demands of a political campaign, Melania’s commitment to her family remains steadfast.

In May, the former first lady Melania Trump said she backs her husband’s third attempt to win the White House. “He has my support, and we look forward to restoring hope for the future and leading America with love and strength,” she told Fox News.
She continued, “My husband achieved tremendous success in his first administration, and he can lead us toward greatness and prosperity once again,” Melania Trump told Fox News.
If her contoversial husband is re-elected again, Melania said she will use her platform to promote the well-being of children.
“My focus would continue to be creating a safe and nurturing space for children to learn, grow, and thrive,” she said. “If additional problems arise, I will take the time to study them and understand their root causes.”
Both Trump and President Biden have shown confidence at being re-elected. However, only time will tell who will reclaim their seat during the 2024 presidential election.
