After receiving backlash for his comments on Thursday in regards to injecting disinfectants as a cure for the Coronavirus, Trump is speaking out and claiming that it was just “sarcasm.”

“I see the disinfectant that knocks it out in a minute, one minute,” Trump said on Thursday’s press briefing. “And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside, or almost a cleaning? Because you see it gets inside the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it would be interesting to check that.”

Trump’s comments caused outrage around the world and even Lysol informed the public that injecting any type of disinfectant would be very harmful and strongly advised against it.

However, during a bill signing in the Oval Office o Friday, Trump clarified his comments and claimed that it wasn’t a serious solution.

“I was asking a question sarcastically to reporters like you just to see what would happen,” Trump said.
