Days after surviving gunfire at a rally in Pennsylvania — which left the gunman (20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks) dead, a 50-year-old former fire chief(identified as Corey Comperatore) dead, and two others critically injured — former President and 2024 GOP nominee Donald Trump made his first public appearance at the 2024 RNC (Republican National Convention).

Trump triumphantly appeared on the screen at the RNC, walking into the venue from backstage with his right ear bandaged, after a bullet nearly missed his head, grazing the top of his ear. As Trump walked from backstage and emerged into the center of the venue, delegates roared with loud cheers and applause for their hopeful next President, who just welcomed Ohio Sen. JD Vance as his running mate.

In addition to Trump’s appearance following his assassination attempt, the RNC crowd also roared for South Philadelphia native, rapper, model, and entrepreneur Amber Rose — who continues to shock the world with her unwavering support for Donald J. Trump. Taking to the stage to speak in support of the former President, Amber Rose insisted, “The media has lied to us about Donald Trump.”

She also spoke to the RNC crowd and viewers at home as a mother concerned about the future of America and how it’ll affect her children. She also spoke about her family, specifically about her father who served in the military. Amber Rose also talked about meeting Donald Trump and his wife Melania Trump for the first time. She recalls him being “kind, generous, and funny as hell.” She added, “The First Lady was gracious and smart with a smile that will brighten up any room.”

Rose continued to tell viewers, “I realized Donald Trump and his supporters don’t care if you’re Black, white, gay, or straight, it’s all love. And that’s when it hit me — these are my people, this is where I belong.” Amber Rose ended her speech by telling viewers in-house and at home how our country is in trouble and to vote for Donald Trump to “Make America Great Again.”

Reacting to Amber Rose’s appearance at the RNC was Joy-Ann Reid, Van Jones, and many people at home had several things to say — both positive and critical. Many people called her out for being a hypocrite and supporting Trump, whom she’s previously called “a f***ing idiot” in a 2016 interview with The Cut, adding, “He’s so weird. I really hope he’s not president.” Others also spoke on her racial ambiguity while others alleged she’s a “DEI hire” for Trump’s campaign.
