Earlier this month, on June 4, we shared that President Donald Trump announced a new travel ban impacting 12 countries. Trump claimed the ban, which he said will “protect the nation from foreign terrorist and other national security and public safety threats,” would take effect on June 9.
At the time, Trump banned travel to the United States by citizens from mainly African and Middle Eastern countries. The ban took effect amid rising tension over Trump’s escalating campaign of immigration enforcement.
