Welp, Donald Trump is not backing down. On Tuesday, the ex-president made it clear that he will not drop out of the 2024 presidential race if convicted of charges related to a 2016 illegal hush money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels.

During an interview that aired last night, Tucker Carlson asked, “Is there anything they could throw at you legally, that would convince you to drop out the race? If you get convicted in this case in New York, would you drop out?”Trump responded. “No, I’d never drop — it’s not my thing. I wouldn’t do it,”

As we previously reported, Mr. 45 Trump was arraigned last week and charged with 34 felony counts in connection to hush-money payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels to cover up an alleged affair. Trump has repeatedly denied any affair or any wrongdoing while also denouncing Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s investigation as politically motivated.

During the interview, Trump also took a moment to troll President Biden who made election remarks during an Easter event at the White House, where he told NBC’s Al Roker, “I’m planning on running, Al, but we’re not prepared to announce it yet.” Trump said, “There’s something wrong. I saw his answer today on television … it was a long answer about the eggs and this and that, look I don’t think he can.”

Despite how confident he seems about the upcoming election, a recent poll showed that he lost support from some Republicans.

As we previously reported, the 76-year-old surrendered before the Manhattan grand jury in New York to face extraordinary criminal charges last week. He’s now the infamous first in American history for a president to face criminal charges. The sealed indictment purportedly charges him with more than 30 counts of corporate fraud, the most serious of which is allegedly paying ‘hush money’ to porn actress Stormy Daniels.

He plead not guilty at the arraignment and flew back to Florida where he delivered an address to his supporters from Mar-a-Lago.

Following the hectic day, he told his supporters, “I never thought anything like this could happen in America,” Trump said. “I never thought it could happen. The only crime that I have committed is to fearlessly defend our nation from those who seek to destroy it.”

He added, “We are a nation in decline, and now these radical left lunatics want to interfere in elections by using law enforcement,” Trump said, tying his prosecution and the multiple investigations he faces to his false claims of the 2020 election being rigged. “We can’t let that happen.”

“With all of this being said, and with a very dark cloud over our beloved country, I have no doubt nevertheless we will make America great again,” Trump said.
