“I said I wasn’t going to do this,” the 54-year-old said while wiping away his tears. He added, “He’s probably at home laughing at me,” Lemon joked before explaining how close he is with Cuomo. “Chris and I are really good friends. We live near each other,” adding, “anyway, he’s not here, and we have this great relationship.”
As we reported, Cuomo revealed his diagnosis to his audience on Tuesday through a tweet. While he explained that he had mild symptoms, he expressed concern for his wife and kids who have been around him before he tested positive for COVID-19. However, he noted in his tweet that he is self-isolating.
Earlier in the show, Lemon did interview his pal via video chat, where the two had given each other a hard time.
“Where’s your suit?” Lemon asked Cuomo. “I’m too sick,” Cuomo replied, adding, “it didn’t look right for me to be sick in a funereal suit. It’s too much like what I might be buried in.”
