Oop! Doja Cat is seemingly doubling down on the lack of love she has for her fans. A few weeks ago the singer and rapper was caught refusing to say that she loves her fans and ended up losing half a million followers on IG. Reacting to the loss of fans, she says, “I feel free.”
In Late July, Doja Cat caught serious backlash after telling one of her fans how should would NOT say that she loves her fans, who call themselves her “kittenz.” In now-deleted conversations between Doja and fans on Threads (IG’s version of Twitter), Doja initially shared a post that read, “My life, my rules, my style, my attitude.”
When one social user responded to her and said, “I wanna hear you say (I do love you guys) as usual you say to your fans,” Doja DID NOT oblige. Instead she fired back, “I don’t though cuz I don’t even know y’all.”
That’s when fans from everywhere started to attack. One person responded, “And we don’t know you, but we have supported you through thick and thin. Mind you, you’d be NOTHING without us. You’d be working at a grocery store making songs on f**king GarageBand, Miss. High School Drop Out.”

Responding to the fan dragging her, the 27-year-old singer and rapper said, “Nobody forced you. I don’t know why you’re talking to me like you’re my mother b*tch. You sound like a crazy person.” But the buck didn’t stop there. No, Doja continued to go off on a rant about her fans.
The “Juicy” rapper said, “My fans don’t name themselves sh*t. If you call yourself a ‘kitten’ or f**king ‘kittenz’ that means you need to get off your phone and get a job and help your parents with the house.”
When one of her fans pointed out that “kitten” and “kittenz” are the names that Doja gave her fans herself, she fired back and said she was drunk when she decided that. The fan said, “??? [We’re] only using the name YOU gave your fans.” Doja retorted, “When I was an alcoholic teen.”
The fan continued to ask, “Can you love your kittenz again or no?” Doja said, “I don’t even know what the f**kk that means.” Another fan, whose username read, “amalazandiledlamlni,” interjected and said, “Girl I’ll help, and a kitten it’s called multitasking.” Doja replied, “You making my government name your screen name is creepy as f**k.”

Another fan, whose username read, “thekittenzweb,” asked, “What should I change my name to since you don’t like the term kitten.” Doja replied, “Just delete the entire account and rethink everything. It’s never too late.”
After Doja’s conversations, all of her top fan pages began deactivating their accounts, and since, she’s lost half a million followers on IG. However, Doja is unfazed by it all. Taking to her Instagram Story on Wednesday (August 16), she said, “Seeing all these people unfollow makes me feel like I’ve defeated a large beast that’s been holding me down for so long and it feels like I can reconnect with the people who really matter and love me for who I am and not for who I was. I feel free.”
