The emergency room doctor claims that Michael Packard couldn’t be completely fine after being swallowed by a humpback whale. He adds that Packard should have suffered from symptoms of barotrauma after being swallowed by the humpback due to the depth. “He reportedly ascended from a 45-foot depth in 20 to 40 seconds and didn’t have any evidence of barotrauma?” he said to the New York Post. Other lobster divers chimed in and said the story could possibly be a tall tale because whale experts and others are having difficulty believing the story.

Packard was released from the Cape Cod hospital early Friday afternoon and only sustain soft tissue damage from the incident.

“Based on what was described this would have to be a mistake and an accident on the part of the humpback,”
