Doctor Permitted To Practice Again Despite Allegedly Fondling 24 Women

The Texas Medical Board has reinstated a Doctor who allegedly sexually assaulted multiple women. Dennis Doan has been accused of groping and inappropriately touching at least 24 women over a 5-year span.

According to authorities Doan has engaged in a routine of “unprofessional sexual misconduct” by groping, touching, or massaging patients’ breasts.

“The Medical Board chose to protect one of their own over sending a message to doctors that you cannot do this,”  said Jan Williams, one of the women who filed criminal charges against Doan. “But they chose their own. I think their message says to doctors, ‘Hey, we can do this in the future. We’re just going to get our hands slapped.”

The Texas Medical Board has yet to respond to any comment.

Criminal cases against Doan started back in 2018 when his patient Sunny Woodall reported to police that during her exam she was sexually abused. She reported during her appointment, Doan was grabbing her breast and massaging them as well. In the statement she also says she felt his erection on the side of her, according to YahooNews.com

“Findings of even a single case of sexual misconduct are often sufficiently egregious as to warrant revocation of a physician’s medical license, and yet, medical boards still tend to side with physicians, even if the board itself finds the physician poses a danger to the public” the federation said in the report
