DMX’s Goddaughter Paige Hurd Recalls The Time They Got Kicked Out Of Six Flags For Weed Possession

While sitting down for an interview with Preme Magazine, actress Paige Hurd was asked about her godfather DMX. She began by revealing how she and family members had recently celebrated his 2-year death anniversary this past Easter. Then she gets asked what her favorite memory is.

Hurd went on to recall a moment when she and DMX were tasked with getting to know each other in real life for their roles as co-stars in the movie ‘Cradle 2 The Grave.’ She said that DMX had decided to have a fun day in the sun and take a trip to a Six Flags Amusement Park for the required bonding.

Hurd added that she doesn’t really do rollercoasters, but she went along with the plans anyway — and little did she know, her wishes of keeping away from the wild rides would come true. As she fondly recalled one of her first memories with the late Hip-Hop legend, Hurd began, “Like right before we were filming ‘Cradle 2 the Grave,’ we had to do like daddy-daughter bonding.”

Hurd continued, “He came to pick me up from my house — me and my older sister went with him — and he was taking us to Six Flags. Now, I’m claustrophobic, I do not do rollercoasters. I don’t do theme parks … I was like, ‘Yeah, well, I don’t ride rollercoasters.’ He was like, ‘Well, you are today.’ I was freaking out the entire way there. He drives very fast. I’m pretty sure we could all imagine. Very, very fast in this small car, and we’re driving down the 5 freeway [and he] misses the exit. You think he goes to the next exit? No. In the middle of the freeway, [he] reverses and reverses down the on-ramp to get up. So it started off chaotic, ok? The day has just started off — I’m like, ‘Who is this person?'”

The 30-year-old actress went on, “Then we get to Six Flags, and me and my sister are terrified … we have to get on these rides. And by the grace of God, weed was not legal then. They found weed and we got kicked out before we even got in. And I was like, ‘I am the Lord’s child. He loves him some Paige.’ Then we ended up going to the mall, KFC and hanging out for the day. That’s one of my first memories that we’ve had. And from then on, I’m pretty sure you can imagine the rest of my stories are stories I can’t tell.”
