DJ Envy’s business partner Cesar Pina is breaking his silence on the big real estate fraud scheme that led to his arrest last week. During a recent Instagram Live, he tried to clear the air on some of the allegations and the 20 lawsuits he’s been hit with. While doing that, he also made it clear that the Breakfast Club Radio host is completely innocent and has nothing to do with all that has been going on.
As previously reported, Pina was recently arrested by federal agents and charged with wire fraud. He’s been accused of defrauding would-be investors in connection with an alleged real estate Ponzi scheme. Now, Pina has often been seen a lot with DJ Envy while promoting the real estate business. However, Envy, whose real name is Rashaun Casey, has not been charged and has maintained his innocence.

While speaking to viewers on IG Live, Pina said that although he can’t go into specific details about the case, he wanted to make it clear that Envy did nothing wrong. He said, “The last couple of months has been a little crazy. I apologize that I haven’t really spoken out because we have attorneys, we have to watch what we say. There’s so many different rules now. Every five minutes I say hi to the mailman and I think he’s going to sue me. I think everyone is suing me,” Pina joked. “The one thing I am going to say, is whenever you touch success you get all these people that want to be around you… as soon as shit hits the fan, all these people that have profited from my success — which there’s been more people that have profited from my success than the people that are suing me — but all the people that have profited from my success and bailed out of jail, put cars and apartments in my name, helped them with downpayment for houses, helped them when they can’t pay their rent… where are these people at? I don’t see them!”
He continued, “But yet, I got all the haters on my page saying ‘you’re going to jail, pay the people.’ But there’s two, three sides to the story. I have 20 lawsuits, out of the 20 lawsuits, a lot of those people I don’t owe money to.” Pina believes that he’s being sued simply “‘cause he’s successful,” which makes people think it’s easy to target him.
Pina went on to say that he believes many have been coerced into going after people who are affiliated with him because they are a bigger name. Pina admits that DJ Envy being dragged into all the legal drama ultimately “breaks my heart.”
“In all these lawsuits, these 20 lawsuits, DJ Envy was never in the room with me. DJ Envy has nothing to do with any of these 20 lawsuits of these people who are suing me… and it fucking sucks bro.” He went on to slam other celebrities like Rick Ross and Funk Master Flex for bashing Envy online.
During his morning show, Envy did address the big allegations. He admitted to participating in seminars and passing along information to potential buyers. However, he said he did not know what Cesar did with the money clients gave him, and even claims he’s lost out $500,000 of his own money in the deal.
“For anybody to say I was involved, that’s totally not true. I would never. I’ve been on radio close to 30 years and never in my 30 years’ time did I do nothing but try to uplift people… And I would never take a dollar from somebody.”

In a recent conversation with legal affairs attorney Meghann Cuniff, Envy’s lawyer, Massimo D’Angelo, said that Envy is also a victim in this case and despite that, “Envy is going to be assisting and cooperating fully” to get money back for himself and other victims.
