This weekend you have to see Disney + new film Rise, which sheds light on the real-life story of three NBA champions, Giannis and Thanasis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Laker Kostas Antetokounmpo, and their brothers.
This past week at the premiere we witnessed the journey the Antetokounmpos family went through, the struggles, sacrifices, the no’s, and the strength that got them where they are today.

Being forced to leave behind their son Francis, they were faced with many obstacles and struggles in their journey to create a better life for their children. The issues presented in the film are a reflection of how many hardships are faced around the world and the many obstacles faced when trying to gain citizenship in countries that offer more opportunities Despite the constant no’s, obstacles, and fear of their family being broken up, the Antetokounmpo’s never gave up on their dreams, love and the hope for their family to be reunited.
