Scott Adams, creator of the comic series “Dilbert,” has been dropped by his book publisher and distributor following a disturbing rant about Black people on YouTube.

Andrews McMeel Universal confirmed in a statement that they would drop Adams from their syndicate after his racist Youtube video went viral on social media. In the video, Adams called Black Americans a “hate group” and encouraged White people to “get the hell away” from them, as reported by CNN. The racist rant led newspapers nationwide to drop “Dilbert” from its syndicated comic publishings.
Additionally, Penguin Random House affiliate, Portfolio, said they would not publish Adams’ upcoming book, “Reframe Your Brain,” as it was scheduled to be released in September. Adams discussed the news in a follow-up tweet and said, “My publisher for non-Dilbert books has canceled my upcoming book and the entire backlist.” Amid the cancellations, Elon Musk tweeted in support of Adams and called the media “racist.”
The media is racist

For a *very* long time, US media was racist against non-white people, now they’re racist against whites & Asians.
Same thing happened with elite colleges & high schools in America.
Maybe they can try not being racist.

However, Musk later clarified that Adams’ commentary wasn’t good but agreed with a tweet saying the situation was “complicated.”
I don’t agree with everything Scott says, but Dilbert is legit funny & insightful.
We should stop canceling comedy!

Adams’ comments weren’t good. But there’s an element of truth to this…it’s complicated. Mainly we’ve leaned into identity with predictable results, and power today is complicated. We were on the right path with colorblindness and need to return to it.

Several newspapers under the USA Today Network said they would be dropping “Dilbert” from their comic sections, and CNN said Adams made the comments after reading a poll from the conservative firm Rasmussen Reports claimed 53% of Black Americans agreed with the statement, “It’s OK to be White.”
“I don’t want to have anything to do with them. And I would say, based on the current way things are going, the best advice I would give to White people is to get the hell away from Black people, just get the f**k away … because there is no fixing this.”
Has anyone asked newspapers what happened to their subscription base this week? I don’t support boycotts but it is part of the story.

An obvious question for those who canceled me is do they disagree with my point. So far I have not seen it. I only see disagreement with my use of hyperbole.

Has anyone disagreed with the opinion that got me canceled? I only get this kind of response when I ask. No disagreement yet. https://t.co/7Czyj4aU2x
