Digital Underground’s Shock G Died Of Accidental Drug Overdose
As it was previously reported, rap legend Shock G was found dead in a hotel room in Tampa back in April. At the time, the cause of death was unclear but Shock’s father said authorities were going to conduct an autopsy.

Shock G was the lead singer for the pioneering hip hop group Digital Underground, and he gets into character as his alter ego, “Humpty Hump,” for the group’s famous 1989 song and dance was just 57 years old.
According to the latest update by TMZ, a Hillsborough County inspector general has revealed the cause of his death, sharing that he died from a deadly mixture of drugs and alcohol.
A rep for the medical examiner’s office told TMZ that it was an accidental overdose of fentanyl, ethanol (alcohol), and methamphetamine. The Hillsborough County ME says Shock G was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:20 PM ET.
His funeral was held May 1, and his Digital Underground family was well represented at the service, TMZ notes.
