Diddy’s music catalog is seeing a significant drop on radio since Cassie came forward and filed a lawsuit against him, according to @billboard. As we previously reported, Cassie sparked a wave of multiple women coming forward once she first filed a lawsuit against the mogul and accused him of raping, sex trafficking and brutally beating her during their relationship.
According to the news publication, Cassie filed her lawsuit on November 16 and since then the mogul hasn’t been getting a lot of radio spins. “Diddy’s catalog generated 11,000 radio spins, which translated to 23.3 million radio airplay audience impressions,” according to the news outlet. “In the two tracking weeks after (Nov. 17-30), his catalog raked in 8,000 spins (down 28%), equaling 17.3 million impressions (down 26%).”
Almost every week since then Diddy’s airplay continued to decline. “In the most recent two-week span (March 15-28), his catalog tallied 1,000 spins that garnered 4 million impressions. Compared with the two weeks leading up to Cassie’s filing in November, that’s an 88% drop in radio spins and an 83% plummet in radio audience.”
It only took one day for Cassie’s lawsuit to be settled with Diddy. Terms of the settlement between Combs and his former romantic partner Cassie, whose legal name is Casandra Ventura, were not disclosed. But to give you an idea of what the ball park number could be, Cassie’s lawyer previously said Combs offered her “eight figures” — or between $10 million and $99.9 million — to keep her from filing her lawsuit. Thay same day, Combs’ lawyer claimed Cassie demanded $30 million while threatening to write a book about their relationship.
Once the settlement was reached Cassie’s legal team released a statement and said, “This evening, Ms. Ventura and Mr. Combs resolved the claims that she filed against him yesterday in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York to their mutual satisfaction.”
Diddy also released a statement after the matter was resolved. “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably.”
“I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love,” said Combs, 54, who over the years has been known as “Diddy,” “Puff Daddy,” and “P. Diddy,” and “Love.”
