Devon Franklin has previously opened up about his breakup with actress Meagan Good. However, during a recent appearance on the Breakfast Club, he gave listeners an update on how he’s been “healing” after splitting from his ex-wife of 9 years back in 2021.
He told the hosts that since then, “mentally I’m doing much better.” He admitted that there was a process to all of that. “There are nights I’m crying myself to sleep. There are moments when I’ve been angry but I’ve allowed myself to feel whatever I felt in order to heal.”
Speaking of feeling angry, Franklin said he feels none of that when asked about Good’s new relationship. “Does it upset you when you see her out and about with Jonathan Majors?,” Charlamagne Tha God asked. Franklin replied, “No. she’s happy, that’s a blessing.”

Franklin and Good tied the knot in 2012. While it all seemed like they were a strong and happy couple, the two left the world in complete shock when they announced that they were ending their marriage. They released a statement at the time saying, “After much prayer and consideration we have decided to go into our futures separately but forever connected. We celebrate almost a decade of marriage together and a love that is eternal. There’s no one at fault, we believe this is the next best chapter in the evolution of our love,” their statement continued. “We are incredibly grateful for the life-changing years we’ve spent together as husband and wife. We are also extremely thankful to God for the testimony being created inside us both and for blessing our lives with each other.”
Earlier this year Good also talked about how she’s been doing since their divorce. While speaking with Essence Magazine back in March, she said, “It’s nothing that I would have ever chosen, and when I realized that it was happening, I was devastated. I was like, ‘This is me, Lord. I did everything that I could do to the best of my ability. I don’t understand why I did all these things, and then this is my end result.'”
Despite it coming to an end, Good told ESSENCE that she still considers Franklin “an incredible and beautiful person,” while confirming that neither did anything malicious toward each other.
