A Detroit woman says a visit to a hairdresser’s home ended in threats and a gun being pulled after an argument over the cost of service.
Robin Phillips told Fox 2 Detroit that she went to the hairdresser’s home with her boyfriend and daughter, believing she would receive a discounted rate because the stylist had advertised a special. However, Phillips said the woman told her she would have to pay a higher price.
Alleged Threats With Scissors and Gun
According to Phillips, the braider already had scissors in her hand during the dispute.“She had the scissors in her hands, she already had scissors in hand. She said, ‘If you don’t pay me, then I’m going to cut your daughter’s hair,’” Phillips told the outlet.
Phillips said the situation escalated further when the woman allegedly ran upstairs and retrieved what she described as an AR-style firearm. “She said, ‘I will shoot you.’ She was saying that, yeah, she said, ‘I will bury you over $10.’ So we pushed past her. We had to get outta there,” Phillips said.Phillips said she and her family left the home immediately.
Police Report Filed
Phillips confirmed that a police report has been filed with the Detroit Police Department.
At this time, authorities have not publicly announced charges related to the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
