Social Media Reacts To A Detroit Man Beating Someone With A Folding Chair

In light of the Alabama brawl it looks like we have another folding chair that has gone viral! In the video that has surfaced on social media you can see a man in Detroit beating up a white man with a folding chair.

A Detroit-based Instagram page shared the footage with the caption reading, “The era of the folding chair: Downtown Detroit yesterday.” In the video you can hear bystanders yelling for the man to stop and another person in background yelling, “you’re gonna get f*cked up.” As of right now it isn’t clear to when, exactly, the clip was recorded and what, exactly, transpired prior to the moments captured in the video. But the video has gained major attention all over social media because a similar incident just took place in Alabama.

One twitter user weighed in on the viral video saying, “#Detroit They are about to start banning folding chairs.” Another twitter user chimed in saying, “A young black man was forced to defend himself from yet another SUSPECTED WHITE SUPREMACIST, using a yellow folding chair. This incident took place in downtown Detroit, Michigan. Let this be a message to Jason Aldean and the rest of the suspected white supremacist and anti-black non- FBA people, DONT TRY THIS IS A SMALL TOWN, BIG TOWN, MID SIZE TOWN or ANY TOWN.”

As we previously reported, things went down in Alabama when a group of white people tried to fight a black employee. Things escaped and several black people jumped in to help the man. Now the group of people are facing charges for their actions!

According to authorities, Richard Roberts, 48, has a warrant issued for assault 3rd degree. Allen Todd another white male that has one warrant pending, Zachary Shipman, 25-year-old white male also has one warrant pending. One of the suspects are in custody, but authorities are waiting on the other two to turn themselves in which they are expected to do so within the next hour. The black man, Reggie Gray, who went viral for knocking heads with a folding chair, is being asked to contact the police department for additional questioning. 

Montgomery’s Mayor Steven L. Reed said in a statement Sunday that Justice will be served. “Last night, the Montgomery Police Department acted swiftly to detain several reckless individuals for attacking a man who was doing his job. Warrants have been signed and justice will be served. This was an unfortunate incident which never should have occurred. As our police department investigates these intolerable actions, we should not become desensitized to violence of any kind in our community. Those who choose violence will be held accountable by our criminal justice system.”
