Defense Attorney In XXXTentacion Murder Trial Continues To Blame Drake For His Killing
As we previously reported back in December 2022, Drake, along with several other rappers — Tekashi 6ix9ine, Migos, Joe Budden, 600 Breezy, and more — were being listed as potential witnesses in the murder of X, real name Jahseh Onfroy.
On June 18, 2018, the 20 year old rapper was ambushed, robbed and shot to the death outside of a motorcycle dealership called Riva Motorsports, in Deerfield Beach, Florida.
As we reported back in December, since X’s murder, the internet has been flooded with several unsubstantiated conspiracy theories.
Especially rumors swirling around Drake, as it was publicly known that the Canadian rapper and X had beef — which ultimately led X to allege that if anything ever happened to him, “it was Drake.”

When the aforementioned rappers were first listed as potential witnesses, it was the defense attorney for Dedrick Williams (who is accused of being the getaway driver) who called them out.
Now, it appears one of the defense attorneys for the three men on trial — 28-year-old Michael Boatwright; 26-year-old Dedrick Williams; and 24-year-old Trayvon Newsome — is continuing to blame Drake for the murder of XXXTentacion.

In video obtained from inside the courtroom, a defense attorney is heard stating, “Before X died, he said, ‘If anybody kills me, it’s Drake. And do you think that for one moment here today…days after the event, he’s killed by two masked men. He came on social media and said, ‘Guys, if anybody kills me, it’s Drake.’ Do you think that in that timespan that they went and addressed him and talked to him? No.”
Meanwhile, prosecutors in X’s murder case say that there is no evidence linking Drake to the deadly shooting, and that X’s murder was the result of a robbery gone wrong.
As we’ve previously reported, X was robbed by three men of $50,000 that he had inside of a Louis Vuitton crossbody bag. The trio is accused of grabbing the bag from X before Boatwright allegedly shot him multiple times “without any provocation.”
