Deelishis Defends Carlee Russell After Missing Woman Returns Home On Foot: “Allow This Family To Take Care Of Their Loved One Without The Judgment And Conspiracy Theories”

A family who was praying for the return of their loved one got positive news over the weekend after the victim returned home. As we previously reported, 25-year-old Carlethia “Carlee” Nichole Russell sparked a police search and made headlines nationwide over her disappearance.

The Hoover police department received a call at 9:34 pm on Thursday from Russell on I-459 South. According to police, Russell reported that she saw a toddler walking on the side of the interstate. After placing the call, Russell said she stopped to check on the child and also called a family member to report the situation. Russell’s mother said during an interview that Russell was speaking with her brother’s girlfriend when her voice suddenly dropped from the call. “The family member lost contact with her, but the line remained open,” Hoover police said. “Officers who were already en route to the location of the initial 911 call located the female’s vehicle and some of her belongings nearby, but were unable to find her or a child in the area.”

After a 2-day frantic search, Hoover Police Chief Nick Derzis said Russell showed up at her parent’s house alone. She was taken by paramedics to a hospital for evaluation. Hoover Police confirm they were notified at 10:45 p.m. that Russell had returned on foot. Hoover Fire medics transported the 25-year-old nursing student to UAB Hospital where she was being evaluated.

The family has since spoken out to ask for privacy during this time. While many have been doing so, some have been speculating and coming up with conspiracy theories as they search for more details as to what happened. Former reality star Deelishis is just one of many people who have been weighing in and coming to Russell’s defense. In a lengthy IG Story, Deelishis urged people to leave the family alone and just “pray.”

“Ppl can be so insensitive. Just because we are made aware of circumstances that make headlines on social media doesn’t make us personally responsible for solving a crime. Yes, we were asked to help the family by spreading the word of her disappearance and most of us did out of sheer decency and human kindness, compassion, and concern but what isn’t decent is now that she’s home with her family, we all start spreading our version of what we THINK happened. Half of you don’t know her full name but swear you know her full story. I’ve never been abducted or in this young lady’s situation but I can imagine as much as she is grateful for our help, the last thing she wants to do is give details and blow-by-blow of her worst nightmare immediately after! We have to learn when to back off!! If she never tells us what happened, it’s her story not to tell !! If you genuinely wanted to help, it should come with no strings attached. Let the police do their job and hopefully, they will to the fullest extent of their authority and ability!
Allow this family to take care of their loved one without the judgment and conspiracy theories of millions of strangers! We don’t know how bad the circumstances were for her! We get triggered and need therapy over the smallest things and we haven’t been abducted… so imagine her state of mind and all the things that can be triggering her. Pray a sincere prayer for ppl and let God handle the things we have NO CONTROL OVER!”

Writing on Facebook Sunday, her mother Talitha Robinson-Russell spoke out and said, “God is faithful and He has answered our prayers. We are so grateful to each of you for all the acts of kindness, generosity, and compassion you have shown,” she wrote. “Our baby is safe!” While Robinson-Russell says she understands the attention to the case, she asked for privacy at this time. Please consider the fact we have not slept for 3 nights and we are mentally and physically exhausted,” she wrote.

Russell’s boyfriend Thomar Latrell Simmons also responded to the news on social media, saying, “Thank you to my lord & savior Jesus Christ for saving my girlfriend’s life! I have been going nonstop since I received the call that she was missing on Thursday night,” he wrote. “I know she would’ve done the same for me, so I wasn’t going to give up until I saw her face again!”

Simmons also denied allegations that he had anything to do with Russell’s disappearance, calling them false allegations.

  1. No one, not even the police ever stated she was abducted. Calling (911) the police stating a child was left on the side of the road; allegedly making a false report over the phone to 911; and allegedly stagging a crime scene: leaving a wig,and cell phone on the ground, purse and apple-watch in the purse and disappearing in four minutes makes it the public business in Alabama. The public deserves a response for the public’s safety, as well as accountability for use of the public’s resources that were used to investigate or this alleged crime. By the way, who is “iamsodeelishis.” Alabamians don’t need anyone allegedly trying to get famous or props off what is a serious event that affects the Alabama community.
