Dave Chappelle On DaBaby’s Controversial Rant: “In Our Country You Can Shoot And Kill N***A But You Better Not Hurt A Gay Person’s Feelings”
In Dave Chapelle’s new Netflix special, the comedian weighs in on DaBaby’s controversial Rolling Loud comments that almost got him canceled.

Dave starts off by joking that the rapper’s offensive comment might’ve been worse than actually ending someone’s life, which DaBaby has also been accused of doing. As TMZ notes, cops say the rap star was involved in a fatal shooting at a Walmart in North Carolina. However, DaBaby himself has said was done in self-defense, and for which he skated.
Dave said during his show,
“LGBTQ community doesn’t know DaBaby’s history, he’s a wild guys. He once shot a ni*gga and killed him.. in Walmart,” Dave said as the crowd laughed and gasp. “Oh this is true. Google it: DaBaby shot and killed a n*gga in Walmart in North Carolina.”
“Nothing bad happened to his career. Do you see where I’m going with this? In our county you can shoot and kill a n*gga but you better not hurt a gay person’s feelings.”

As we previously reported, in the middle of his Rolling Loud set on July 25, DaBaby asked fans to put their cell phones up “if you didn’t show up today with HIV/AIDS or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that will make you die in two to three weeks.” He went on to make derogatory comments about gay men. As a result of his comments, he got dropped from several major festivals.
DaBaby has since apologized multiple times and has met with several HIV organizations and discussed HIV history, education, and outreach, particularly in Black, LGBTQ, and faith communities.
