WNBA star Kelsey Plum is currently trending on X after New York Giants star, Darren Waller released a new music video where he opened up about his past relationships.

The new song which is titled “Who Knew (Her Perspective)” comes just a few months after Plum filed for divorce. While explaining the meaning of the song on his Instagram, Waller stated that he wrote the song from the viewpoint of a woman trying to love him. “I’ve struggled with intimacy in romantic relationships my whole life, and I recognize the toll it has taken on the lovers I’ve been close to,” the NFL player said on Thursday.

“Essentially, I’m telling myself, from the damage I’ve done, that it’s imperative for me to heal the wounds in my life I’ve been avoiding by seeking relationships.”

In the video, Waller is singing to a woman who seems to be a Kelsey Plum look-alike. In that moment, he stated that the image represents him walking in her shoes. “As the song is an attempt to see things from the woman’s perspective, the video is an extension of that, ending with me being alone and wondering why they wounded me and left me there.”

As we previously reported, towards the end of April, the news broke about Waller and Plum calling it quits after one year of marriage.

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, on April 23, Plum, 29, and Waller, 31, filed a joint petition for divorce in Clark County, Nevada. Shortly after the filing, Plum released a statement on social media that read: “I’m devastated. I walked through fire for that man, but now I see it’s time to go,” she shared to her Instagram story. “God has given me an incredible life, and I’m truly so grateful for the profound love from my family and friends,” the Las Vegas Aces star continued.

“One day I’ll share my story, today is not that day. Thank you for the grace to process my pain, to forgive and move forward. Today and everyday I will continue to choose joy. Much love KP.” Plum concluded her message by referencing the Bible verse Philippians 1:6, which conveys the message that “He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”
