In his opening monologue, the Oscar-nominated actor commented on the Royal Family almost a month after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s exclusive interview with Oprah Winfrey. He referenced the moment when Markle revealed that a Royal member commented on Archie’s skin color and said they have concerns regarding how dark he would be before his birth.

Kaluuya said, “I know you’re hearing my accent and thinking, ‘Oh no, he’s not black, he’s British.’ Let me reassure you that I am black. I’m black and I’m British. Basically, I’m what the royal family was worried the baby would look like.”
