Hollywood Unlocked talks with five of the top ten contestants on “Dancing With The Stars” for Villains Night.
Halloween weekend is upon us and it’s only right that ABC’S hit competition show “Dancing With The Stars” welcome villains week. We spoke with “The Real” host Jeannie Mai, CatFish host Nev Schulman, actresses Skai Jackson and Justina Machado, and The Bachelor contestant Kaitlyn Bristowe.
Jeannie Mai
Jeannie Mai and her partner Brandon Armstrong were on the chopping block. Jeannie and Brandon channeled Hannibal Lecter as they danced to”Maneater” by Nelly Furtado. With a score of 25 out of 30, that was almost not enough to keep them out of the bottom two. We spoke with Jeannie and Brandon about their very close elimination and how dancing in front of no audience either helped or hurt their performance.
Nev Schulman
Nev Schulman took it back to his roots as he and his partner Jenna Johnson danced the Paso Doble in ode of “Swan Lake to the song “Swan Lake Remix” by District 78. Nev dedicated this dance to his father who would take him to see the ballet at a young age. Nev is no newcomer to dancing as he began dancing ballet at a young age. With this being a dance that was close to his heart, he scored the seasons first 30 out of 30. We talked to him about why it was important for him to be doing so well in this competition and what this means for young boy ballet dancers.
Skai Jackson
Skai Jackson and her partner Alan Bersten considered this dance their redemption as they came into this night having received a low score the week prior. Channeling one of Skai’s favorites the Bride of Chucky, they danced the Argentine Tango to “Everything I Wanted” by Billie Eilish. This night was no doubt a great night for Skai and Alan as they received a score of 27 out of 30. We talked to Skai about her focus on the dance floor as she is the youngest contestant on the show.
Justina Machado
Dedicating her dance to teachers, Justina Machado, and her partner Sasha Farber took on the movie “Carrie” as they danced the Tango to MILCK’s “Take Me To Church.” With a score of 26 out of 30, Justina talks with us all about learning about ballroom dancing from Sasha and her thoughts about making it this far in the competition.
Kaitlyn Bristowe
Kaitlyn Bristowe and her partner Artem Chigvintsev had an unusual villain as their dance was inspired by Cruella de Vil. Now the reason that this is unusual is due to Kaitlyn being an avid dog lover. They danced the Paso Doble to “Disturbia” by Rihanna and were hit with some major critiques from the judges. After receiving a score of 24 out of 30, we spoke with Kaitlyn and Artem about both Bruno and Carrie Ann not being impressed and feeling like they gave up in the dance.
