Is Abby Lee Miller sipping on Haterade or just giving her honest opinion as a former professional dancer? The Dance Moms star recently shared her candid opinions on pop superstar Britney Spears’ dance videos, expressing her concern over the singer’s choreography choices and wardrobe.
Known for her straightforward and sometimes harsh criticism, Abby Lee Miller didn’t hold back as she discussed Britney’s dancing evolution and offered advice for improvement.
While speaking exclusively with the Daily Mail, Abby Lee Miller acknowledged that Britney Spears was once a great and confident dancer, drawing comparisons to the likes of Jennifer Lopez. She praised Britney’s iconic performances in songs like “Toxic” and “Baby One More Time,” highlighting her athleticism and natural talent. However, the renowned choreographer believes that Britney’s recent dance moves have left much to be desired. “I cringe and I yell at her and then the whole world hates me, and then the world of Britney comes after me like I’m psycho. How dare I,’ Abby, 58, confessed. ‘I just want her to pull her pants up. The lower your pants are, the longer your body looks and the shorter your legs look.”

She went on to say “No torso. You want to be a head and neck and legs. So, she keeps pushing her pants down, making her body longer and her leg shorter. And I’m like, ‘pull your pants up and make your legs look longer.’”
Abby Lee Miller attributed Britney’s questionable dance choices to her lack of recent training. She stressed the importance of staying connected to the ever-evolving trends in dance and continually honing one’s skills. According to Abby, Britney’s absence from her dance teacher and the industry for an extended period might have contributed to her current dance style.
“I would say she performed like J-Lo. She was doing the knee slides and doing real athletic, real dancing,’ she continued. ‘Toxic. I mean, any of those songs, even in her video […Baby One More Time] the iconic schoolgirl outfit, coming down the hallway with the lockers. She was dancing and she could dance. She was great. She was just great. “Britney was adorable, great, confident and well taught.”
Miller continued, “She was away from her dance teacher too long, that’s number one. And number two is dance is a constantly evolving artform, so you have to continually stay with the trends,’ she said. “In fact, Britney’s first dancer teacher, Darni Fenerty, is a friend of mine. When Britney went to Star Search, her parents did not take her.”
Abby Lee Miller’s critique of Britney Spears’ dance videos may just stem from her passion for the art form and her desire to see performers reach their full potential but many of Spears’ fans think she’s just being another online hater.
Aside from that, fans have been seeing more of Spears’ fun dancing videos ever since her conservatorship was officially terminated in 2021, which finally brought an end to the legal arrangement that has controlled her life for 13 years.
