Dan Schneider has filed a lawsuit against the “Quiet On Set” producers for defamation. According to an exclusive report by TMZ, the famed TV producer is claiming the series falsely painted him as a child sex abuser at Nickelodeon and ruined his reputation.
As we all know Dan was behind a lot of the great shows that made the network pop off such as, “The Amanda Show,” “Drake & Josh,” “Zoey 101,” “iCarly” and “Victorious” during his time at Nickelodeon. In the lawsuit, Schnieder claims the series was made for “clickbait, ratings, and views — or simply put money.” His lawyer also stated, “Schneider had no knowledge of their abuse, was not complicit in the abuse, condemned the abuse once it was discovered and, critically, was not a child sexual abuser himself.”

Schneider continues to deny that he had known about any of the things that his colleagues were doing and took accountability for the way he treated some of his peers. He told the news outlet, “Recently the docuseries Quiet on Set highlighted mistakes I made and poor judgment I exhibited during my time at Nickelodeon, most of which happened decades ago during my early career as a producer, working on shows for Tollin/Robbins Productions. There is no doubt that I was sometimes a bad leader. I am sincerely apologetic and regretful for that behavior, and I will continue to take accountability for it.”
Dan Schneider also released a statement to The Hollywood Reporter after the series and posted a 19-minute long video where he responded and apologized to the allegations. “Though we cannot corroborate or negate allegations of behaviors from productions decades ago, Nickelodeon as a matter of policy investigates all formal complaints as part of our commitment to fostering a safe and professional workplace environment free of harassment or other kinds of inappropriate conduct. Our highest priorities are the well-being and best interests not just of our employees, casts and crew, but of all children, and we have adopted numerous safeguards over the years to help ensure we are living up to our own high standards and the expectations of our audience.”
We also shared how Drake Bell spoke out in the doc and revealed how he was sexually abused by his dialogue coach, Brian Peck who in 2004 was sentenced to 16 months in prison after pleading no contest to two counts of child sex abuse. During his interview on YouTube Dan Schneider denied hiring Brian Peck.
Schneider said that when Bell told him about the assault, he was “more devastated by that than anything that ever happened to me in my career, thus far.”
