After seemingly coming from Megan Thee Stallion last year by name-dropping her in his “Boogeyman” song, where he also claimed he slept with her, DaBaby is now saying he has no problems with the Houston rapper.
TMZ recently caught up with DaBaby in Bevy Hills and was asked about the possibility of repairing his relationship with Meg…with a collab. He said “Absolutely Meg. You know I would do a new song with you!” While responding to the questions about being cool with her he said, they are “cooler than a fan.” DaBaby said the same thing about his relationship with jailed rapper/singer Tory Lanez.
Now, Megan has not spoken out to confirm if she and DaBaby are actually cool but she recently spoke out in an interview to let her fans know how she’s been doing after the jury found Lanez guilty of shooting her.
In a piece for Elle Magazine, Meg shared that she privately fell into a depression over the 2020 shooting which left her injured and then trolled online as many people didn’t initially believe her claims. However, she managed to pull herself out.
“I started falling into a depression. I didn’t feel like making music. I was in such a low place that I didn’t even know what I wanted to rap about. I wondered if people even cared anymore. There would be times that I’d literally be backstage or in my hotel, crying my eyes out, and then I’d have to pull Megan Pete together and be Megan Thee Stallion.”

She continued, “It never crossed my mind that people wouldn’t believe me. Still, I knew the truth and the indisputable facts would prevail. I had worked way too hard to reach this point in my career to let taunts deter me. When the guilty verdict came on Dec. 23, 2022, it was more than just vindication for me, it was a victory for every woman who has ever been shamed, dismissed, and blamed for a violent crime committed against them.”
Further into her wide-ranging essay for the mag, she said, “I understand the public intrigue, but for the sake of my mental health, I don’t plan to keep reliving the most traumatic experience of my life over and over again. I’m choosing to change the narrative because I’m more than just my trauma.” Looking back on the shooting, Meg says, “Not only did I survive being shot by someone I trusted and considered a close friend, but I overcame the public humiliation of having my name and reputation dragged through the mud by that individual for the entire world to see,” she said. The guilty verdict “was more than just vindication for me, it was a victory for every woman who has ever been shamed, dismissed, and blamed for a violent crime committed against them.”
Lanez is currently being held in a LA County Jail without bail until sentencing.
