CrossFit CEO & Founder Greg Glassman Under Fire For ‘Racist’ Emails & Mocking George Floyd Murder On Twitter
This week, CrossFit gym affiliates, athletes and brands were called out after the fitness company’s CEO and founder Greg Glassman and his team remained silent amid the Black Lives Matter protests — and to make it worse, his latest activity online dug him a deeper hole. Glassman is now being canceled on Twitter after “racist” emails surfaced, along with a newly-tweeted insensitive post, mocking the murder of George Floyd.
While the Twitterverse called for affiliates to cut ties — which Reebok has now done — social media users are also petitioning for the resignation of Glassman after an email shows him blatantly disregarding the Black Lives Matter movement, and calling Alyssa Royse, an employee of gym affiliate Rocket Community Fitness, mentally incapacitated and a “sh***y person, as she tried to get them to take a stance amid the protests following the company’s silence.

After being blasted on Friday for the emails, Glassman hopped on Twitter and made matters worse after responding to a post by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, who wrote, “Racism and discrimination are critical public health issues that demand an urgent response. #BlackLivesMatter,” and posted a picture that read, “Racism is a public health issue.” Glassman then replied, “It’s FLOYD-19.”
A day later, he replied to the post, stating, “Your failed model quarantined us and now you’re going to model a solution to racism? George Floyd’s brutal murder sparked riots nationally. Quarantine alone is ‘accompanied in every age and under all political regimes by an undercurrent of suspicion, distrust, and riots.’ Thanks!”

If @CrossFit’s silence on the racial injustices plaguing the country hadn’t tipped you off, Greg Glassman just outed himself.
