According to the latest reports by The New York Post and TMZ, Cristiano Ronaldo has also been quarantined as a result of Rugani’s positive coronavirus test. The Post cited Quotidiano Sportivo, which reported that Ronaldo was in Portugal visiting his sick mom when the announcement was made — and is self-isolating and staying in Portugal until he knows it is safe to return.
Now, Juventus is scheduled to play French club Lyon at home in the Champions League on Tuesday. However, the outbreak of the virus has led to a nationwide lockdown in Italy, where soccer and all other sports have been suspended until April 3 — so things may change for the team.
Meanwhile, Italy’s number of virus cases soared again on Wednesday, to 12,462 infections and 827 deaths — numbers second only to China, The Post reports. According to Aljazeera, More than 126,000 have been infected globally, according to the WHO. Of those, over 68,000 have recovered, according to Johns Hopkins University, which is tracking the virus.
