Craig Robinson On Filming ‘Songbird’ & Bringing Hope During The Pandemic

’Songbird’ brings our current reality to the big screen but now its 2024, and the COVID-19 virus has mutated into COVID-23 and the world is in its fourth pandemic year.

In the United States, you are required to take daily temperature checks on your phones and those infected with COVID-23 are taken from their homes against their will and forced into quarantine camps, called “Q-Zones.” The lucky ones are able to roam around town with immunity bracelets as they are immune from the deadly disease. A story of fate, power struggles and hope at the end of the tunnel, “Songbird” is both chilling as we are currently living through it, but also a film that evokes hope as there is always a better day ahead.

We spoke to The “Office’s” Craig Robinson who portrays, Lester,  the owner of a fulfillment operation that supplies both necessary and luxury items to those who can afford them during the pandemic, but Lester himself is also stuck indoors.

Robinson spoke to us about some of the difficulties filming during the Covid pandemic and all the precautions that needed to be taken while filming a pandemic movie during a pandemic. Robinson also shed light on how he would react to some of the situations faced in the film. No spoiler alerts here but it definitely gets intense’!
