COVID-19 Expert Dr. Anthony Fauci Beefs Up Security After Death Threats
The nation’s top coronavirus (COVID-19) expert Dr. Anthony Fauci, 79, has reportedly beefed up his security detail following multiple death threats.
Fauci, who is also a member of President Donald Trump‘s coronavirus task force, now requires a personal security detail at all times, carried out by nine agents from the Department of Health and Human Services Inspector General’s Office.

Meanwhile, Fuaci dismissed the threats, stating, “You know, it’s my job. This is the life I’ve chosen, and I’m doing it. I mean, obviously there’s a lot of pressure. I would be foolish to deny that. … It’s a job to do, and we’ve just got to do it.” Referring to the HIV epidemic in the 1980s, he adds, “I’ve been through crises like this before.”
Due to Fauci’s high-profile role in leading the response on the virus crisis, quickly it turned him into a target for those Trump supporters accusing him of undermining the president or others in disagreement with his views.
