Court Gives ‘Proud’ Capitol Rioter Permission To Go On Mexico Vacation Before Trial

If you’re wondering why “White Privilege” is trending on Twitter this Wednesday morning, it’s because social media users are coming across the news about Jenny Louise Cudd, the Capitol rioter who was granted persimmon to travel before trial!

According to The Daily Beast citing USA Today, Cudd, asked a federal court to let her go ahead and enjoy a Mexican vacation she booked prior to the Jan. 6 insurrection. Her lawyers asked for the court’s blessing for her to leave for a “work-related bonding retreat” on Monday and a U.S. magistrate approved the request and ordered that her pretrial travel restrictions be changed to allow the four-day trip.

Cudd, who is on pretrial release after being charged with misdemeanor offenses related to the Jan. 6 riot, was the one who published a Facebook video after the riot in which she boasted about breaking down the door of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office. “F*ck yes, I am proud of my actions,” she declared. Under the conditions of her release, she is not allowed to travel to Washington unless it is for a court appearance or a meeting with her attorneys or pretrial services officer, the news site notes.

The filing, obtained by USA TODAY, noted that “Cudd has no prior criminal history and has remained in contact with her attorney and pretrial service officer, who had no objection to her proposed travel plan. Prosecutors took ‘no position’ on the request.”

Meanwhile, the Black Capitol rioter Emanual Jackson, who was seen wielding a metal bat at the Capitol entrance during the insurrection has been denied bail. Activists have also repeatedly pointed out the clear disparity between how violent white Capitol rioters were treated vs. peaceful Black Lives Matter protestors.
