Court Declines To Award $20 Million Default Judgment Request By Victim Jennifer Hough in Nicki Minaj & Kenneth Petty ‘Harassment’ Case

The legal battle between Nicki Minaj, her husband Kenneth Petty, and plaintiff Jennifer Hough continues.

As we previously reported, Petty’s alleged rape victim filed a lawsuit back in August, accusing him of “intimidating” her while claiming Minaj also “harassed” and “threatened” her to recant her entire story. Hough later followed up with a request for a default judgment as she accused the duo of ignoring the case.

However, in court documents dated Oct. 15 and viewed by Complex, Nicki Minaj explained that her failure to respond to the complaint was the product of an “innocent mistake,” and asked the court to excuse the delay. According to a new report by Rolling Stone, Minaj was able to avoid a $20 million default judgment in the case.

Now, despite this new development, Hough’s lawyer, Tyrone Blackburn, says that they still plan on pursing the default ruling. He claims the Petty’s have “no respect for” the case: “It’s interesting that Kenneth Petty is currently in the Eastern District of New York suing the state of New York, but he has no respect for this proceeding and no respect for this judge to come forward and to answer for raping Jennifer Hough in 1994 and all the harassment he and his wife and his goons visited upon her since then,” Blackburn said.

As we previously reported, Jennifer Hough is the woman who accused Minaj’s husband of rape back in 1994. To note, both Petty and Hough were 16 and living in Jamaica, Queens at the time of the incident. Petty was initially charged with first-degree rape. He denied the rape charges but subsequently pleaded guilty to attempted rape, and spent over four years in prison.
