Wesley Moribe,41, and his wife Courtney Peterson,46, were arrested Sunday shortly after landing at the Lihue Airport in Hawaii. Authorities reported they were traveling with a four-year-old child and both tested positive for the virus before their flight from San Francisco. Although they were told at the San Francisco International Airport to quarantine and not board the United Airlines flight, the couple did it anyway.
Officers at the Kaua‘i Police Department said they were notified about the couple and contacted them once they arrived in Hawaii. They escorted the family to an isolation room and questioned by officials who wore PPE to protect themselves from the virus.
