Couple Gets Engaged In The Middle Of West Philly Protests

Welp, a man decided to pop the big question to his longtime girlfriend in a not-so-romantic setting, but she still said yes.

Maurice Small got down on one bended knee in West Philly Tuesday night to propose to Tenesha Pennington, his girlfriend of 8 years, according to TMZ. Instead of being surrounded by close friends and family, he made the big move in front cops and people who were protesting the fatal police shooting of Walter Wallace Jr.

TMZ managed to obtain the clip where you can see the couple hugging after he asks her to marry him. The crowd can be heard cheering and taking pictures of the two.

As we reported, Wallace, who was holding a knife and walking toward police, was shot 14 times by police. The tragic shooting sparked riots across the city leaving 30 cops injured, including 1 who was hit by a truck. The 29 officers were treated and later released from the hospital. As for the cop, she is said to be in stable condition.
