Country Singer Morgan Wallen Apologizes After Using N-Word During Rowdy Nighy Out: ‘I Promise To Do Better’
Country star Morgan Wallen is promising to “do better “ after he was filmed hurling a racial slur on the streets of Nashville, Tennessee, prompting one of the biggest radio chains in the US to drop him from its playlists!
TMZ reports that Wallen was returning home Sunday night with friends when a few neighbors heard him yelling a series of comments to a man who was with him. One neighbor who heard the commotion filmed the incident. In the clip, Wallen can be heard on the video calling his friend a “motherf—er” and then referring to the man using the N-word.
In a statement to TMZ, Wallen says he is sorry for his poor actions: “I’m embarrassed and sorry,” Wallen told TMZ. “I used an unacceptable and inappropriate racial slur that I wish I could take back. There are no excuses to use this type of language, ever. I want to sincerely apologize for using the word. I promise to do better.”
This isn’t the first time the entertainer has been forced to apologize after being the subject of leaked footage. Back in 2020, the 27-year-old was blocked from a scheduled performance on “Saturday Night Live” after a video surfaced of Wallen at a crowded party without a mask amid the coronavirus pandemic.
