Country Music Legend Kenny Rogers Dies At 81

#Socialites, we have some unfortunate news to share. Kenny Rogers, a longtime star of country music has sadly passed away.

A representative for the music legend confirmed the news and shared that he died Friday night. Rogers, who was known for such hits as “The Gambler,” “Lady,” “Islands in the Stream,” and “Lucille,” passed peacefully at home in Sandy Springs, Ga., of natural causes at 10:25 p.m., the statement said.

“Kenny Rogers left an indelible mark on the history of American music. His songs have endeared music lovers and touched the lives of millions around the world,” a statement posted by his publicist Keith Hagan said.

The Country Music Association also reacted to the news of Rogers’ passing. The statement read,

“Country Music has lost the great Kenny. Rogers, who has forever left a mark on Country Music’s history,” the Country Music Association said. “His family and friends are in our thoughts during this difficult time.”

The family of the six-time Country Music Awards winner and three-time Grammy Award winner, plans to have just a small private service due to the coronavirus outbreak, the statement said.
