Congressman Randy Weber Urges House to Censure Jasmine Crockett Over ‘Hot Wheels’ Comment

During a recent Human Rights Campaign banquet in Los Angeles, Rep. Jasmine Crockett kept it all the way real — but her words came with heat. While addressing the crowd on Saturday, she referred to Texas Governor Greg Abbott as “Gov. Hot Wheels.” Now, Abbott has been in a wheelchair since a tragic accident in 1984, so you already know that comment stirred the pot — especially with conservatives.

But Crockett, who reps Texas’ 30th Congressional District, was quick to clarify her intent. She explained Tuesday night that the jab wasn’t about Abbott’s disability but his policies. “I want to be clear — my critique was about what he stands for, not his wheelchair,” she stated.

Still, that explanation didn’t fly with Republican Congressman Randy Weber. On Wednesday, he took to [X formerly known as Twitter] to make it loud and clear that he wasn’t feeling it. “Words have meanings, and actions have consequences,” he posted. “I look forward to introducing my resolution to censure you for your words and actions.”

Randy Weber Doubles Down: “Crockett’s Words Were Unbecoming of Congress”

By Wednesday, Congressman Weber wasn’t just tweeting — he put pen to paper and filed an official resolution to censure Rep. Jasmine Crockett.

“I have officially FILED the censure resolution against Rep. Jasmine Crockett,” he wrote. “She must be censured and held accountable for the venomous rhetoric she spews as a representative of the Democratic Party.”

Weber, 71, represents Texas’ 14th District and has long been vocal about what he sees as rising incivility in Congress. In the resolution, he accused Crockett of behavior “unbecoming of a Member of Congress.” And that wasn’t all — he brought up a previous incident where Crockett clashed with Reps. Nancy Mace and Marjorie Taylor Greene during a heated House hearing back in May 2024.

He painted her comments as part of a “pattern of discriminatory rhetoric,” making it clear he doesn’t believe this is a one-time situation.

Jasmine Crockett Holds Her Ground Despite Republican Pressure

Despite the noise, Jasmine Crockett’s not backing down. She continues to stand firm on her track record and advocacy, especially when it comes to marginalized communities. Her team released a brief statement defending her right to call out political policies she believes harm Texans.

  2. “OH PLEASE” We Have Heard A Lot Worse From M.T. Greene , L. Boebert, and Definitely Donald tRump.
Yet it seems that it is ok . . . (is it because they are republican?) no not necessarily that…
As we already know, Showman Donald has been rude for years, if he decides he does not like you, or thinks you don’t like him.
For the other two listed above, as well as most of the pro tRump republicans it seems they have been given carte blanch to be rude as long as it is in support of tRump and/or his policies, but Heaven Forbid if your a republican and disagree with him, you are a (RINO) republican in name only, and if Donald or his followers have their rudeness pointed out by someone, oh they must have (tds) tRump derangement syndrome …
