As we previously reported in December 2023, North West debuted her rapping talents during a listening party for her father’s upcoming album. Fast forward to February 10, 2024, when Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, released his new album, Vultures 1, in collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign under the joint moniker of ¥$. Featuring 16 tracks in total, the album included “Talking,” the track that would catapult North West into the spotlight.
With her impressive performance on “Talking,” Little Northy secured the 30th spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 list dated February 24, 2024. This is super sweet as she solidified her place in music history but also garnered attention as one of the youngest artists to grace the prestigious chart.
While North West’s accomplishment is remarkable, it is worth noting the notable entries that came before her. French singer Jordy holds the title as the youngest artist to enter the chart at the age of five, while Stevie Wonder remains the youngest soloist to top the list at just 13 years old. North West’s achievement adds a new chapter to this legacy of young talent making waves in the music industry.
Celebrating his daughter’s success, Ye took to social media to share the news with his followers. A repost from @chartdata confirmed North West’s entry on the Hot 100 chart, marking a big moment for the budding artist and her proud father.
Beyond “Talking,” Vultures 1 made a sweeping impact on the music charts, with all 16 tracks from the album securing a spot on the Hot 100 list. Notably, “Carnival” emerged as the highest-ranked song, claiming the third spot on the all-genre chart. The album’s success extended to the Billboard 200 chart, where it debuted at the top for the week, solidifying Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s collaborative effort as a major success.
