The latest tweak to Twitter, which is actually now called “X,” will no longer allow users to block other accounts… Musk claims the feature “makes no sense.” He initially tweeted on Friday, “Is there ever a reason to block vs mute someone? Give your reasons. Clearly, folks didn’t respond fast enough as he then tweeted, “Block is going to be deleted as a “feature”, except for DMs.” He added, “It makes no sense.”
Following his announcements, Twitter users were quick to share just how much it makes sense. One person said, “It makes an insane amount of sense. If I don’t have a block button, my comments would be filled with bots, bad actors trying to associate me with hateful content, people trying to promote their content in my comments, NAFO imbeciles spamming with disinformation.” Another said, “It’s like getting rid of the second amendment. You have no self-defense other than to back away from X altogether. Save the block feature.” A third person added, “Don’t worry you can still block people on Twitter. It’s easy, just delete the app!”
