#Socialites, get into this! A Colorado man is going viral after it was reported that he allegedly tried to avoid a couple of speeding and DUI charges by swapping seats with his dog!

Colorado Man Allegedly Tried To Avoid Speeding And DUI Charges By Swapping Seats With His Dog

According to officials with the Springfield Police Department, on Saturday (May 13) they stopped an unidentified male for driving 52 mph in a 30 mph zone around 11:30 p.m., near 7th Street and Main Street.

The authorities said that when they approached the man, who has not been identified, he had attempted to swap seats with his dog, who was in the passenger seat.

The authorities say they watched the entire process of him doing the swap-a-roo. According to a Facebook post from the incident, “The male party then exited the passenger side of the vehicle and claimed he was not driving. The male party showed clear signs of intoxication and when asked about his alcohol consumption the male party ran from the Officer.”

The officers quickly apprehended the man and soon learned that he had been coming from Las Animas and was heading to Pueblo, but ending up getting lost in Springfield. Authorities also found out that the man had two active warrants for an arrest out of Pueblo.

The Facebook post added, BCSO [Baca County Sheriff’s Office] arrived and assisted with the incident and the male party was medically cleared at the hospital and then booked into the Baca County Jail for his warrants and also charged with; Driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, Driving while ability impaired, driving under suspension, speeding 20-24 over, and resisting arrest.”

The post also updated about the dogs whereabouts and joked about him receiving a small warning. They wrote, “The dog was given to an acquaintance of the driver to take care of while the party was in jail. The dog does not face any charges and was let go with just a warning.”
