Colin Kaepernick Says He’s “Absolutely Prepared” To Make A NFL Comeback
Colin Kaepernick hasn’t played in a NFL game since his last performance in 2016, but the star is speaking out saying he’s trining up to six days a week to stay prepared “to take a team to a Super Bowl again”.
In his latest interview with Ebony, the 33-year-old athlete revealed that he is absolutely ready to pick up his professional football career again if he has an opportunity to sign to a team in the league.
“I am still up at 5 a.m. training five, six days a week making sure I’m prepared to take a team to a Super Bowl again,” Kaepernick expressed to The View co-host Sunny Hostin. “That’s not something I will ever let go of, regardless of the actions of 32 teams and their partners to deny me employment.”
Kaepernick added, “The same way I was persistent in high school is the same way I’m gonna be persistent here.”
If you’re not familiar with the Colin Kaepernick story, back in 2016 the superstar began kneeling during the national anthem that is played at the beginning of the football games. Colin was kneeling to protest against racial injustice, police brutality and systemic oppression. But the NFL seem to believe he was disrespecting the flag which had social media and NFL fans in a big debate on what his purpose was. Even though he was vocally open about his reasoning for kneeling, but some people wanted to tear him down.
