Coi Leray is speaking out after The House approved a bill Wednesday that could ban TikTok if its parent company ByteDance doesn’t sell its stake in the popular social media platform.
With the possibility of the app being taken away Coi Leray who has a large fan base on TikTok with her viral songs spoke out on X, formerly known as Twitter and said she’s is not worried if the app goes away.
“Tiktok is not a streaming platform. And I never looked at it as one. I’m not worried. As long as you don’t take away Apple Music, Spotify , Sound cloud, Tidal, Audio Mac , YouTube music, Amazon music, I’m good. Music and the love I have for it, is forever 💘,” Coi shared to her fans.
After sharing her message she received some comments that were going against what she said. A news page called Hip Hop All Day, responded back to Coi and said, “TikTok is the biggest source of free advertisement the music industry has ever seen, it might not directly be a streaming service but the impact it has on what people listen to is like nothing we’ve ever seen before.”
Another person chimed in saying, “Coi that’s how a lot of your songs went viral! Because they were TikTok sounds.”
