Coco Austin is defending herself and her parenting techniques after having left a lot of people puzzled when she not only bathed her six-year-old daughter, Chanel, in her kitchen sink but also chooses to still use a stroller for the child. And while the 43-year-old has remained rather quiet about the heavy criticism she’s received in recent months, Coco is finally hitting back at the people who may not necessarily like how she goes about her role as a mother.
“They’re like, on me,” the former model told Page Six, referring to the people who have blasted her parenting on social media. “But the thing is, everybody’s a hypocrite I feel because they do certain weird things in their house.” Coco stressed she didn’t see the issue in choosing to bathe her daughter in the sink, nor the outrage when people saw photos of Chanel still being pushed around in a stroller over the summer.

“I don’t think that bathing my daughter in the sink is weird. If I have a huge-ass sink, why not? It’s just easier for me,” she expressed, while also noting that instead of carrying Chanel everywhere, it’s easier to bring a stroller along. “She’s petite, she’s super small, and it’s easier.”
“I just don’t understand. Why go after me over something so stupid? It’s a stroller. It’s our baby in a sink. Like, come on people, next thing you’re going to say, ‘Oh, you’re kissing her wrong,’ you know?”
Coco asserted that because she believes people think she plays “the sexy mom role,” they intentionally pick on her to scrutinize her parenting while watching her every move under a microscope just so that they can pick her apart when they feel she’s doing something wrong.

But the California native assured the outlet that she knows what’s best for Chanel and notes that she would never endanger her daughter by any means. While the world continues to deal with such destruction, death, an ongoing pandemic, and a potential war, Coco questions why people are so concerned about how she’s raising her child who is clearly loved and adored by both her and dad, rapper Ice-T.
“I’m very, very protective of her, and going after me for these little things while there’s war? I’m like, ‘Really guys, you’re gonna go after me?’ Does that even make sense?”
