Boxing champ Claressa Shields is used to throwing punches in the ring, but when it comes to her man, Papoose, she’s throwing nothing but love.

While appearing on the “With Love With Ty Cole” show, Claressa opened up about why she prefers to celebrate “gold love” instead of “Black love,” making it clear that in her eyes, some things fade, but gold stays shining.

She broke it down to host Ty Cole, saying,

“Black love fades… You know you got a black shirt, you keep washing it and all of sudden it’s grey, it’s not even black no more. But gold is always in style. Real gold don’t turn brown or green.” Shields went on to say,

“I feel like with me and Pap, we see the good in each other, and we also recognize the bad. But something I can say is that, he loves what I love, and I love what he loves — I love who he loves, and he loves who I love — and that’s something that brings us closer together.”

More On Their Love:

While Shields is no stranger to publicly sharing her love for Pap, the OG rapper always gives her the same energy back.

Earlier this year, he dedicated an Instagram post to his woman, saying,

“Claressa has a big heart. Always wearing a big smile! Most think she’s so rugged because she’s a fighter. But The way she takes care of her body is on another level. Zoom in… she has small hands, small feet, & some unbelievably smooth ass skin. C Very beautiful black woman. When the way you LOVE can Inspire others. That says a lot!!!”

Papoose and Claressa Shields have reportedly been dating for over a year and have publicly discussed marriage and kids down the line.

While we wait for that time to come, one thing’s for certain: they’re super locked in.
